Wine is a bit of a hobby. I like how the same grape can taste so very different depending on the country of origin, the region, the climate, whatever. I’m not Oz Clarke but I do know what
I like. The obligatory mulled wine was imbibed today. Concocted from Roko Chilean red from Tesco. Then later we drank a nice Carmenere from Chile that was decanted. That went by the name Mayu and was one from the Oddbins wine fayre. Well it was good. Very fruity but smooth and long finishing.
To finish there is a Chilean Cono Sur reserve Sauvignon Blanc. SB is my favourite. Theres a lively light spritz on this and the usual grapefruity sharpness. All good till I remember that my nickname for Chilean vino is HANGOVER JUICE.
Arrrrgggghhhhh!
